On 3 June, Cooperativa d’Ivars held a new meeting of its Pig Farming Committee with the aim of sharing regulatory updates affecting the sector, particularly in relation to the essential requirements for carrying out animal welfare audits on fattening farms.
During the meeting, key aspects such as livestock density, minimum infirmary capacities and the most common deficiencies identified in this area were addressed, with special attention also given to the criteria and approach of the administration regarding these matters.
The meeting also served to provide an update on the current situation regarding ASF cases, existing limitations and the future outlook for the pig farming sector. In addition, the results of the accumulated production cost evolution for the January-May 2026 period were reviewed.
With this meeting, Cooperativa d’Ivars reaffirmed its commitment to keeping members continuously and transparently informed, while working in a coordinated way to find solutions that help address the sector’s challenges as effectively as possible.
