On 2 June, Ivars Cooperativa welcomed a group of technicians from several cooperatives across Catalonia, including Artesa, Plana de Vic, Agrocat, Cotécnica and Linyola. The visit was organised by the Federació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya with the aim of gaining first-hand insight into the Cooperative’s model, activity and some of its strategic projects.
During the session, participants were able to learn more about the history of Ivars Cooperativa, its social base, its main economic and production figures, and the key pillars that define its present and future. Particular emphasis was placed on the Cooperative’s commitment to digitalisation, innovation and continuous improvement as essential tools for building a more efficient, productive and environmentally responsible activity.
The visit also included a first-hand look at the expansion of Mamonera Inglada, a strategic facility for Ivars Cooperativa. Josep Torra, veterinarian at the Cooperative, explained the importance of this site, both in ensuring the supply of young calves and in generating applied knowledge in areas such as animal management, nutrition, animal welfare, facility improvement and process digitalisation.
Finally, the technicians visited the new cleaning and disinfection centre in Castellserà, another key facility designed to strengthen the Cooperative’s biosecurity standards, particularly in relation to the transport of pigs. This meeting highlights the value of sharing knowledge and experiences between cooperatives, while reinforcing Ivars Cooperativa’s commitment to promoting an innovative, efficient agri-food model firmly rooted in the territory.
