During the Mollerussa Fair, IVARS Cooperativa had the opportunity to take part in a talk on Cadena SER’s Aquí Lleida programme, a space for conversation and reflection on issues that directly affect the present and future of the agri-food sector. During the discussion, current topics were addressed, such as the impact of fuel prices, a factor that directly affects cereal production costs and, consequently, feed costs and the entire food supply chain. 

As Kevin Requena, Director of Institutional Relations and Sustainability at IVARS Cooperativa, pointed out, “the feed we produce is transformed into meat. The result of the management and dedication of our livestock farmers and growers is what ultimately reaches the supermarket.” This reflection highlights the essential role of the primary sector and its contribution to society. The conversation also addressed energy and food sovereignty, two strategic challenges that must be tackled with a forward-looking vision, commitment to the local area, and support for a strong and sustainable production model.
