IVARS Cooperativa has once again taken part in the General Assembly of the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia, a key meeting to highlight the importance of agricultural cooperativism within the Catalan economy and its role in serving the territory.
The closing session was attended by Cristina Massot, Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food. During the event, the President of the FCAC, Ramon Sarroca, and the Director General, Jordi Vibes, shared relevant data on the cooperative sector, highlighting that cooperatives account for 33% of Catalan agri-food production.
The assembly also underlined the Federation’s role in supporting cooperatives, as well as the promotion of projects linked to innovation, sustainability, digitalisation, exports and generational renewal.
As part of the International Year of Women Farmers 2026, the event also included a recognition of the women who have held responsibilities within the FCAC Governing Council. Among them, Ramona Mota, Secretary of the Governing Council of IVARS Cooperativa, was recognised for her commitment to the agricultural and cooperative sector.
Representing IVARS Cooperativa, the assembly was also attended by Jordi Saltiveri, Head of the Livestock and Milk Branch of the FCAC Governing Council and member of the Governing Council of the Cooperative, and Kevin Requena, Director of Institutional Relations, Sustainability and Communication.
Our participation in this assembly reaffirms IVARS Cooperativa’s commitment to the cooperative model, the agri-food sector and the future of the territory.
